  • Developing your own network, for instance through attending conferences (both scientific and business-oriented).
  • Conducting market analyses to align industry needs with ACS research expertise, and explore collaboration  opportunities.
  • Defining research proposals and budgets, in collaboration with ACS researchers and senior Business Developers.
  • Effectively manage the start-up of clinical trials, in close collaboration with individual investigators, the Heart Center Clinical Trial Bureau CURIUS and Clinical trial Proposal Managers – all while carefully managing priorities.

  • Negotiating project budgets and potential financial milestones based on successful project outcomes, together Clinical Trial Proposal Managers and financial back office.
  • Systematically documenting exchanged information such as contacts, legal documents, meeting agendas and minutes, press releases, and publications.
About you
  • A completed scientific training (MSc) in life sciences is required; a PhD in life sciences, knowledge of cardiovascular clinical research, an MBA or relevant industry experience in life sciences are a plus.
  • Interest in working with the life sciences biotech, pharmaceutical or medtech industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, preferably also fluent in Dutch (ideally you should be able to understand Dutch).
  • A proactive, creative and goal-oriented personality with strong problem-solving skills. A team player who gets things done. This position requires an energetic, self-starting, stress-resistant attitude. Ambition to develop a sales-oriented and objective-driven attitude combined with strong communication & negotiation skills both internally and externally are crucial. Being able to influence without formal authority would be great.
  • Eager to acquire more knowledge and curious about the broad spectrum of cardiovascular diseases.
  • Affinity for financial and legal aspects of public-private research collaborations and valorization initiatives, including IP, publication rights, and budgeting standards; and a willingness to acquire any lacking skills.
  • Ambition to learn negotiation skills (experience negotiating with industry partners is a plus).
  • Compassion for patients suffering from cardiovascular disease, translated into passion for creating collaborations that push scientific research and clinical care forward.
