We offer a position for an ambitious and enthusiastic research technician in a highly motivated research group of the Neurochemistry Lab, led by Prof. Dr. Teunissen.
The Neurochemistry Lab of the Department of Laboratory Medicine is taking part in several clinical trial studies but also performs the analysis of diagnostic markers for clinical research.
As a research technician you will be embedded into the facility where you will support clinical research projects by performing a variety of biomarker protein assays by using the most modern and sensitive technologies, such as Lumipulse Single Molecule Analysis and Ella systems.

The mission of the Neurochemistry Laboratory of the Amstedam UMC, location VUmc, is to improve patient care for neurological disorders by developing biomarkers in body fluids.
A primary focus area is the early diagnosis of dementia, for which there is close collaboration with the Alzheimer Center. A second focus area is Multiple Sclerosis, for which there is collaboration with the MS Center Amsterdam. We also work with diagnostic companies to develop and validate new tests. The research group has strong expertise in the identification of new biomarkers and the development of new biomarker assays until implementation.
You will participate in a growing team, in which there is good and pleasant cooperation. The team consists of 45 employees, including 18 PhD students, 10 postdocs and 17 research technicians and data analysts. The Neurochemistry Lab provides a lively, internationally oriented, scientific environment with excellent facilities. We also organize weekly scientific meetings, journal clubs and work discussions to gain scientific input and to exchange knowledge.
Amsterdam UMC Research BV supports non-profit scientific research. In doing so, we provide researchers with everything they need to excel. Our principal investigators (PIs) and project leaders offer support in the field of project management, finance and human resources. In medical scientific research projects, legal support is also provided.
