The project

The European project ‘ACCESS-AD’ (Advancing Clinical Care and Equity through Scalable Solutions in Alzheimer’s Disease diagnosis and treatment) is a collaborative research initiative aiming to transform the patient journey for people affected by AD by turning scientific advances into everyday clinical care across Europe. ACCESS-AD will validate and implement accessible diagnostics, such as accelerated MRI/PET imaging, biofluid-based biomarker, digital monitoring tools, and AI-supported decision tools into routine healthcare pathways, enabling earlier treatment selection, risk stratification, tailored multifactorial personalized interventions, and continuous monitoring. Patients will move from fragmented, delayed care to a coordinated, personalized experience across specialist and primary settings. As such, we will deliver a new holistic standard for real-world AD care: connected, inclusive, and impact-driven.

Amsterdam UMC is the coordinator of this large consortium and will involve over 30 partners across Europe. Due to the size of the study, the sponsorship role will entail continuous communication with several academic and industrial parties, requiring excellent communcaiton skills and a good eye for detail.
