About your role
Because we are both an academic and a level 1 trauma center, you will never be bored as an anesthesia practitioner at Amsterdam UMC. You can work with us at two locations (AMC and VUmc) with a wide variety of procedures. Together with the anesthesiologist, you are responsible for administering and maintaining anesthesia during complex academic procedures in various specialties and patient age groups. Additionally, you play a major role in the resuscitation and trauma team at the Emergency Department (ED). Together, we form a close-knit team delivering top-notch care.
As an anesthesia practitioner at Amsterdam UMC, there is always something to learn by attending additional training and participating in various working groups within our department. Additionally, you can progress to Sedation Practice Specialist or senior anesthesia practitioner within the department.
In addition to highly complex care, we have a day center with many patients requiring low or moderate complex care. We offer you all the possibilities.

Our offer
- One-year contract with the prospect of a permanent contract.
- Classification in salary scale 9b: € 3.746 tot € 5.483 Gross for full-time employment (depending on education and experience).

About your workplace
Amsterdam UMC is in transition; recently, the anesthesiology department of the VUmc location and AMC location were merged. There is a team of anesthesia practitioners at both locations. The VUmc location focuses primarily on highly complex oncological care. At the AMC location, (acute) trauma care mainly takes place. This combination provides an exciting and challenging aspect to your work.
We mainly perform rarer and more complicated treatments, often with a multidisciplinary approach. There is a lot of scientific research being conducted, and new medical techniques are being applied and developed.
