The project

In our group we study hereditary heart diseases. Since there is generally no cure available for these patients, they often die at a young age or they require a heart transplant. Our team investigates the molecular mechanisms that underlie these heart conditions, and on this basis we aim to develop novel therapies. We are looking for a research analist with a background in cell biology and molecular techniques, to support our team in various projects.

  • induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and iPS-derived cardiomyocytes
  • genome editing techniques
  • engineered heart tissue
  • viral transduction
  • qPCR
  • Western blotting
  • immunohistochemistry and microscopy
About you
  • You are a biomedical lab technician or you are almost finished with the program (HLO or Bachelor biomedical sciences);
  • You have experience in cell culture and molecular biological techniques;
  • You have experience in human hiPS cells and hiPS-derived cardiomyocytes (preferred);
  • You can solve problems independently and you function well in a team;
  • You speak and write well in English.
