
We are looking for a professor who wants to work in the mentioned subfield of academic rheumatology. He/she will make important contributions to education and training, and will have the main responsibility for lines of research in the field of precision medicine in rheumatic diseases. This includes managing a research team, acquiring grants, and making choices with regard to the strategic goals of the research area. The professor will pursue an active policy to strengthen and expand this area in collaborations within Amsterdam UMC, with colleagues at Reade in the context of the Amsterdam Rheumatological Center (ARC), and with colleagues at other universities both nationally and internationally.
For this position we are looking for an experienced specialist in rheumatology and successful researcher in the field of precision medicine in rheumatic diseases, who is comfortable in national and international research collaborations. You have a passion for this research and you have ambitions and concrete ideas to further strengthen and expand the field from a position as a professor. You are energetic and motivated and able to balance various tasks and perform them with high quality. You are experienced in teaching and contributing to the training of AIOS.
The chair at VU University, Faculty of Medicine can be combined with an appointment at a suitable external organization and/or a parttime appointment at the Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at Amsterdam UMC. The actual work can take place at both locations of Amsterdam UMC: VUMC and AMC, at the Reade location of the ARC, and/or an external location, in proportions that are flexible and adapted to the ever-changing situation.
